As a person reaches a point in life - due to age or early disability -- where walking up and down stairs becomes difficult, the benefits of a power stair lift are more obvious: The lift can move a person up and down stairs. But there are other benefits, as well. A power stair lift:

  1. Reduces the risk of falling. A power stair lift can be installed proactively -- while the person is still able to maneuver on stairs. However, most stair lifts are ordered when people are in the hospital or a rehabilitation facility and cannot return to a home with multiple levels. When it is physically impossible for a person to get up and down the stairs, a stair lift isn't just a preventative measure, but a necessity.
  2. Gives peace of mind to the caregiver or family member.
  3. Costs much less than having an elevator or elevator-type lift installed. It costs much less to have two wheelchairs - one on each level - than to have an elevator installed in the home. Used stair lifts are an option which can help bring the cost down drastically.
  4. Stair lifts can be used for things other than helping people up and down the stairs. Someone who can walk on stairs easily but can't carry items up and down might use a lift to send things like laundry, household supplies or other items up or down stairs.

A power stair lift is more affordable than you may think. Contact Power Stair Lifts today for a free estimate.
