The mission of the Lehigh Valley Aging in Place (LVAIP) is to provide an ongoing forum for professionals from private, public, non-profit and business sectors to inform, educate and help older adults age in place. We provide information and solutions to older adults and their families to be proactive in planning for their future needs.
Founded in 2006 by a group of professionals from different industries who shared the common interest of working with seniors, LVAIP has always sought to maximize the quality of life of older adults in the Lehigh Valley. Today, that spirit of lives on through four key objectives of the nonprofit:
Provide a forum for senior professionals to network, collaborate and work together to improve senior care across all industries that serve older adults.
Educate older adults and those who care for them by hosting and attending various formats of educational events including health fairs, care panels, and offering a speaker's bureau to speak to groups.
Each year 10,000 member resource guides are printed and distributed throughout the Lehigh Valley as a tool to help seniors and caregivers navigate issues of aging. The same information is also available on this web site and the digital member directory. Events such as the Lehigh Valley Senior Expo and annual October dance invite seniors to come enjoy festivities and learn about available resources.
As a 501(c)(3) LVAIP uses monies raised to support the above activities as well as provide donations to worthy organizations who serve seniors. Past donation recipients have included Lehigh Valley Active Life, Project Lifesaver, and others. In addition, LVAIP provides annual scholarships to students going to school for nursing and other related senior care industries.
