Senior Advocacy Nonprofit Continues Virtual Caregiving Series
While the pandemic has interrupted many aspects of life, it has not stopped the march of time nor the progression of diseases. “People continue to age and families continue to deal with the effects of Alzheimer’s disease and eldercare issues,” says Jillian Berry, President of Lehigh Valley Aging in Place Coalition (LVAIP). “Now more than ever families need to be supported as they seek solutions to navigate the senior and elder care process.”
During a time when large gatherings of at-risk populations are discouraged, it has become more challenging to assist seniors and caregivers as they seek solutions for aging-in-place needs. In normal years, there are ample opportunities for family caregivers to attend a health fair or senior expo like LVAIP’s popular annual Lehigh Valley Senior Expo held at Ag Hall each spring. Despite the inability to gather in person, the almost 100-member nonprofit, LVAIP, decided to host a virtual caregiver series this fall addressing meaningful topics to support healthy aging.
We launched 4 sessions in the fall of 2021 and due to the success of the sessions, we have added additional ones for Winter 2022. Please see the date(s) below.
All sessions are free and underwritten through the generosity of LVAIP members and sponsoring organizations.
