Business Profile
Pinnacle Doula Services comes to you. I work in client homes throughout the Lehigh Valley and surrounding communities, and I’ll also work wherever your person is living now, whether that’s assisted living, memory care, skilled care, or a hospital room.
Planning conversations, advance directive walk-throughs, and family meetings can happen virtually. If you’re the daughter in Ohio and your mother is in Bethlehem, we can still work together.
Services Provided
With Pinnacle Doula Services, Helen Dunkle is the extra eyes and ears of the hospice team. A certified end of life doula and a hospice nurse earlier in her career, Helen fills the gaps between weekly hospice visits, catching the changes in walking, breathing, and thinking that a scheduled visit can miss. She advocates for the dying so their wishes are heard, and she helps them decide how they want their last weeks to go. She asks about the stories nobody in the family has heard yet, and she writes them down while there’s still someone to ask. She prepares families for the conversations they’re dreading, for the bumps in the road nobody warned them about, and for what dying actually looks like. She sits vigil at the end, and when the breathing changes or someone gets agitated, she can tell you whether what you’re watching is normal. Helen believes everyone deserves a good death. There’s no dress rehearsal.
