The Senior Safety Net Fund was created for one simple reason: sometimes older adults fall into the gaps of the system, and they shouldn’t have to face those moments alone.

This fund helps seniors who are experiencing urgent needs but do not qualify for traditional financial assistance programs. Often, these are situations where a small problem can quickly turn into a major crisis. The goal of the Senior Safety Net Fund is to provide timely, short-term support that helps older adults remain safe, stable, and independent in their homes.

How the Fund Can Help?
The Senior Safety Net Fund may assist with urgent needs such as:

• Utility support
• Emergency respite care
• Transportation to critical medical appointments
• Essential medications or medical equipment
• Food assistance
• Safety modifications in the home (such as grab bars or small repairs)
• Other immediate needs that help a senior remain safe and independent

Who Qualifies?
The fund is designed to support seniors who:

• Are typically 60 years of age or older
• Are experiencing financial hardship or have a low income
• Have an urgent need not covered by insurance or other assistance programs
• Would benefit from short-term help to prevent a larger crisis

What Makes the Senior Safety Net Fund Different?
The Senior Safety Net Fund moves quickly.
When a need is identified by a social worker, care team member, or community partner, the goal is to step in before the situation worsens. By addressing urgent needs early, the program helps seniors stay safe, supported, and able to continue living independently.

How to Refer a Senior
Referrals to the Senior Safety Net Fund can be made by social workers, healthcare professionals, care team members, and community partners who identify an older adult facing an urgent need.
