Resources for Families: How to pay for a home stair lift?
A residential home stair lift is a great solution for a senior or another individual with mobility challenges who need to access multiple living spaces across two levels of their home. Whether it is a bi-level, two-story, or even a ranch with a basement washer and dryer, a stair lift removes the risks associated with “doing the stairs.” There are multiple kinds of chair lifts including straight residential stair lifts, curved stair lifts, outdoor residential stair lifts, commercial stair lifts, vertical platform or wheelchair lifts, and even aluminum ramps.
Ben Aydin from Right at Home Lehigh County was featured on WFMZ on the topic of "Including the elderly this holiday season". Ben gave several points to consider to ensure that an older loved one is included in the holiday festivites. Sometimes seniors are left out of family gatherings because the children have moved away or are very busy this time of year. It is also important to help seniors celebrate in a safe way. He mentioned mobility can be an issue. For instance, we need to help them navigate the hectic mall envirnment. We want to provide safe and convenient transportation - whether it be family or something like Lanta.
No matter what you do the important thing to remember is that your time is the best gift you can give to your older family member.

LVAIP is creating a video library on an array of topics that will be hosted on our web site and YouTube channel, and also posted on the Facebook page. We need you to sign up to have your video created on your area of expertise. Watch the video below to learn about the program:
Each video will be approximately two minutes long. Each LVAIP member will have the opportunity to select one (1) topic by Friday, March 4, 2019, first come first served. After that, members who wish to create additional videos on additional topics may do so using the same Google sheet. Please check the list of others who have signed up to make sure that you are not duplicating topics, including reviewing previous topics recorded from 2018 (either look above in the Video Gallery of Experts at the top of page or click the Spring 2018 tab in the Google sign-up sheet).
If you stopped by the Fearless Fire Company last Thursday, the place was on fire with fun. Upbeat music was ringing through the hall as more than 200 seniors gathered to “dance through the decades”. The jitterbug, fox trot and even a few waltzes filled the afternoon with an energetic vibe. The smiles were outweighed only by the sharp moves of some of the dancers who could have auditioned for “Dancing with the Stars”.
Raffles were held with excited winners heading home with baskets of goodies and prizes. Snacks were served for those who wanted to take a break from dancing or who came just to socialize. All in all, everyone had a wonderful time.
